Benefits; Sick Leave; Vacation; Retirement Posting Number xxxx049S Job Description Under general supervision from a lead worker or supervision by departmental administrator, enforces university parking rules and regulations, issues warnings and citations, installs impound equipment, coordinates vehicle towing, places barricades and signage for lot closures and events, performs lot painting within campus parking lots, and maintains meter, pay station, and garage equipment to include preventative maintenance, equipment malfunction troubleshooting and repairs, and cash/coin removal. - Adheres to all OSHA and/or Ohio University required safety guidelines - Provides leadership to student employees. - Patrols assigned campus parking areas monitoring vehicles for parking authorization, enforcing parking rules and regulations, issues warnings and citations using hand-held computers and/or manual ticket writing. - Impounds and coordinates towing of vehicles. Installs and removes impound equipment. Sets up and removes barricades and signage for lot closures/events. - Collects money from parking meters, pay stations and garage equipment. Troubleshoots and repairs equipment as necessary. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment. - Assists motorists by giving directions, locating vehicles and buildings and identifying and reporting inadequate signage. - Performs lot painting within campus parking lots. - Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications - Good interpersonal skills. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. - Must have skill in working with the public in stressful situations. - Read and write common vocabulary in sentence structure - Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers calculate fractions, decimals& percentages - Ability to apply principles to solve practical problems. - Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral and pictorial form. - Work independently or with others. - Knowledge of all applicable OSHA and/or Ohio University safety guidelines and procedures. - Lift/pull up to 75 lbs. - 12 Months verifiable training and/or experience working successfully with the public in a customer service environment is required. - Successful completion of an exam may be required. - Valid Driver's license is required. - Prolonged walking and/or standing. - Will be exposed to inclement weather. - May be exposed to dirt, grease, odors, extreme hot or cold temperatures, vehicular emissions, and hazardous traffic areas. - Applicant must have an established pattern of good work habits and performance as well as meet Occupational Health Medical standards for posted position/classification.
